A Mid-City Merchants Art Festival

The 14th annual Baton Rouge Mid-City Merchants spring art festival, “Hot Art, Cool Nights”, will be held on Friday night, May 12 2017, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.  This spring art festival is a premier event for the city. Participating businesses with be filled with thousands of shoppers, artists, musicians and art and music lovers.

During the event, Mid-City businesses sponsor local artists showcasing their original work.  Some will be well known artists and some will showcase new and never before seen talent.  Participants are sure to see various mediums and styles of art from works of sculptors, painters, jewelry designers, photographers, live music and more. All purchases of original art are subject to zero city sales tax if purchased in the Mid-City cultural district.

Mid-City is truly the most unique art and design district of the city.  Its area spans from Jefferson @ Goodwood, Government Street to 14thStreet.  Free Shuttle bus transportation will be available as well as uber discounts the night of the event, or you may just want to stroll along Jefferson and Government Streets and take in the art and excitement.

Proceeds from the art festival will help purchase public art for the Mid-City area of Baton Rouge.
